Managing Director of JCS HR Consulting Julie Sykes established the company in 2002 after a successful HR career which began in the public sector and moved on into both privately owned and multinational companies.

Julie’s particular expertise is in the field of employee relations and in providing HR support to SMEs, particularly start-ups and growing organisations. She has worked in a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, health care provision, engineering, hospitality, financial services, education provision, retail and media.

As well as working with organisations to devise the most appropriate HR strategy to support business objectives, she provides expert guidance and support in all areas of operational HR - through all stages of the employment relationship, from pre-recruitment to termination of the relationship.

Recent assignments have included restructures, policy design and implementation, grievance and disciplinary advice and investigations, and implementation of HR administration systems.

Julie is valued for her pragmatic approach to HR which balances a range of factors such as longer term business objectives, corporate culture and values, shorter term business needs and legislative requirements.

Qualified to MBA level, Julie is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel & Development and is a Level B psychometric testing practitioner.

Outside work Julie is a keen runner and tennis player and enjoys travel, combining her interests whenever possible.
